Gifts and Decorative Accessories Today's Gift Retailer and Trade Shows, 2014 ,
Nine out of 10 retailers attend trade shows for the variety of vendors and another 89% value new products and new vendors. That's according to Gifts and Decorative Accessories' exclusive 2014 Today's Gift Retailer Survey.
Eighty-six percent say it's important to see and feel products before buying. That's one of the main reasons retailers spend resources traveling to trade shows and being away from their business for days at a time.
Gifts and Decorative Accessories Trends & Forecasts Report 2014 , Fifty percent of vendors we surveyed are selling online directly to consumers. This is the same number as last year, according to Gifts and Decorative Accessories exclusive 2014 Trends and Forecasts survey. This year's data reveals that 33% of vendors that are not currently selling directly to consumers, are considering it in the future. Last year, the number of vendors that were still considering selling directly to consumers in the future was 20%. This reveals a changing attitude in vendor's minds when it comes to selling directly to consumers online.

Of the 74% of gift retailers that use social media, 99% use Facebook, 43% have a Twitter account, 34% use LinkedIn and 33% post on Pinterest; but the majority, 90% say Facebook is the most effective.
Gifts and Decorative Accessories Millennial Consumer Report , Forty-three percent of gift and decorative accessory vendors reported in the 2012 Gifts & Decorative Accessories Trends and Forecast Survey that they plan on creating products targeted at Millennials, also known as Generation Y. Not a bad plan given the 2010 Census revealed there are 56 million adult Millennials age 18 to 30. According to comScore, Millennials have a purchasing power of $170 billion.
